Introduction to Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence towards change. Rooted in empathy and collaboration, MI seeks to elicit an individual’s values by guiding them through a reflective process that reinforces their commitment to change. It is widely used across disciplines such as healthcare, addiction treatment, and mental health services, and has been shown to be effective in increasing engagement and promoting lasting change.
