About You Dr Laura Skelly, PhD, BCBA is a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 20-years of experience in the field. She is also an advocate for a better world for her neurodivergent children. Laura currently works as a behaviour therapist with RehabCare supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in both day and residential settings. Previously, Laura worked as an Early Intervention tutor both with Saplings Special School for Children with Autism and Complex Needs in Kildare, and directly with families in their homes. Community inclusion and increased autonomy for people with an intellectual disability are Laura’s main areas of interest and drive. She is the founder and organiser of Jumping Jellybeans (https://www.facebook.com/Jumpingjellybeansvirginia) which is an afterschool sports and social club for children with intellectual disabilities that utilises peers from the local schools as buddies. The aims are to build community links in a fun, active and achievable way for children with intellectual disabilities, and to educate peers on the strengths of those with intellectual disabilities to promote acceptance and understanding of diversity.
