Community inclusion and increased autonomy for people with an intellectual disability are Laura’s main areas of interest and drive. She is the founder and organiser of Jumping Jellybeans ( which is an afterschool sports and social club for children with intellectual disabilities that utilises peers from the local schools as buddies. The aims are to build community links in a fun, active and achievable way for children with intellectual disabilities, and to educate peers on the strengths of those with intellectual disabilities to promote acceptance and understanding of diversity.
